Step back in time
From the large bay doors of our Central Virginia factory, breathtaking views of valley farms and the Blue Ridge Mountains stretch to the horizon. Clore is mere minutes from Route 29, but by all other accounts, it is centuries back in time.
Our showroom is in a converted part of our workshop complex. The Heart Pine floors have stories to tell! One large room was often cleared of contents for a barn dance. Stand quietly for a minute and you might even hear the ghostly strains of a Virginia reel!
The Clore Furniture LOVEwork is one of nearly 300 giant LOVE letters, called LOVEworks, in towns and cities across the Commonwealth of Virginia. Each LOVE installation is a reflection of the community in which it stands, and the Clore Furniture LOVEwork is no exception. Each letter of the Clore LOVEwork represents the progression from tree to finished product.
L – Small logs representing logs where all of our furniture begins (with bark, round logs).
O – Squares which are logs that have been sawn into rough sawn lumber.
V – Lumber turned into two bed posts – prior to being finished.
E – Has been mortise and tenoned, then sanded with a finished appearance.
If you’re visiting our showroom or even if you’re just in the area, we invite you to stop by and take a picture in front of our LOVE sign! Be sure to share your pictures on the Virginia is for Lovers Facebook at Facebook.com/VirginiaisforLovers or by tagging @VisitVirginia on Instagram and Twitter and using the hashtag #LOVEVA

Enjoy Virginia hospitality
The world has changed dramatically since Madison County’s charter in 1792, but our small, sweet Town itself has changed very little. It is known for friendly residents, its well-preserved 19th century Main Street, and a tradition of decorative arts and crafts. You will even see some centuries-old Clore furniture practices hard at work!
We welcome visitors here year ‘round, but on Labor Day weekend, Downtown Madison hosts the Taste of the Mountains Festival, one of the Southeast’s top 20 festivals. This family-friendly event celebrates the unique culture and traditions of the historic Central Piedmont region and Blue Ridge Mountains.
The Madison Chamber of Commerce can help you plan your visit. There’s so much to do and see—wineries, historic Presidential homes, and the family-owned Graves’ Mountain Lodge—you’ll probably want to stay a while.
Located in the heart of Central Virginia
Located in Central Virginia means Washington, DC is only about ninety minutes away; Richmond, an hour away, and Charlottesville, a pleasant thirty minute drive.
